What should I look for when selecting a transcription agency?

When selecting an agency to handle your transcriptions, it is important that it have high standards for accuracy, delivery time and confidentiality. Ask for references and check out client testimonials.

  • For legal transcriptions: Transcribers should hold AOC Certification by the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey and/or the American Association of Electronic Reporters and Transcribers (AAERT) to ensure the highest standards in excellence.
  • For medical transcriptions: Transcribers need to be knowledgeable about medical terminology, including drug names and Latin terms, and willing to research when needed.

Will I need to pay money up front to get the transcription started?

We do require a good-faith deposit when ordering the transcription of your media. The balance is due upon completion of the transcript. For an overview of our pricing, see the Rates page.

How long will it take to get my transcript?

That depends on the complexity of your transcription needs and the delivery time you requested when ordering. We strive to meet all deadlines, whether it is a rush order or a standard order.

What steps do you take to ensure confidentiality and client privacy?

All our transcribers are bound by a confidentiality agreement. In addition, your e-mail address, name and mailing address will not be sold to, or shared or traded with, any third party.

What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay online with Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit cards using our secure payment gateway. We also accept checks and money orders.

What types of media and files do you accept for transcription?

We can handle transcriptions from a variety of media and file types. Many different media – including, but not limited to, digital files, FTP files, wav, wma, mp3, mp4 – can be easily uploaded to our secure site. We also transcribe CDs, DVDs, 2- and 4-track court tapes, mini-cassettes and standard cassettes.

How do I provide my transcription materials?

You may upload your media or files on our secure site. We can also arrange to pick up your materials and deliver or e-mail the finished product at your preference.

Can recordings be uploaded to you directly?

Yes. You can upload files directly and easily to our secure site. Please see the Upload Files page for full details on our simple three-step process.

Are there any special requirements for recordings?

Basically, we need a clear recording to ensure accurate transcription. We recommend reading our Recording Tips before you record. 

Who should I contact when ordering a court proceeding to be transcribed by your agency?

On our Request a Court Transcript page, we have provided an alphabetical listing of some of the Court Transcript Units at various courthouses in New Jersey that you may contact to request a transcript of a proceeding.
